World PI Week 2026: Celebrating Irish Representation and Excellence in Immunodeficiency Care

Home » News » World PI Week 2026: Celebrating Irish Representation and Excellence in Immunodeficiency Care

During World PI Week, IPIA is pleased to share this news from St James’s Hospital. Aoife, the ANP in Immunodeficiency, recently contributed to the IPOPI PID Forum session in Brussels on Growing Older with a PID, representing Irish immunology nursing and the St James’s team at an EU level.

St James’s Hospital has also announced that its Immunodeficiency Service has successfully achieved QPIDS (Quality in Primary Immuno Deficiency Services) accreditation from the Royal College of Physicians (UK) Accreditation Unit. This makes it the first immunology service outside the UK to receive this accreditation.

QPIDS accreditation means that the Immunodeficiency Service has been independently reviewed and assessed against rigorous clinical standards. This achievement reflects the dedication, expertise, and teamwork of the medical, nursing, and administrative staff at St James’s Hospital, and the service has expressed sincere gratitude to patients for their support throughout the process.

This is an important milestone for specialist immunodeficiency care in Ireland and demonstrates St James’s Hospital’s ongoing commitment to delivering high-quality care for people living with immunodeficiency disorders.
